Eddie Rhea Hemphill (b. 1990, Dallas, Texas) is a photographer and filmmaker whose work traces the shifting relationships between memory, identity, place, and the histories that impact each.

Hemphill’s practice is grounded in trust and sustained observation. His storytelling originates in lived experience and attends to the often overlooked.

His work has been exhibited throughout Los Angeles, New York, and Honolulu including the Honolulu Museum of Art and the Compton Art and History Museum. His film and audio work have appeared on HBO Max and been featured by Apple Podcasts.

Hemphill is a first-year MFA candidate at the University of Georgia’s Lamar Dodd School of Art.

Based in Los Angeles and Athens, GA. Available for international travel and to work in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Honolulu as a local.
